Education Program Overview
MSDB provides a free, appropriate, public education to eligible students 18-months through age 21 who are deaf, hard of hearing, blind, visually impaired, or deafblind. Our on-campus educational program, located in Great Falls, provides accessible education for all students.
- For students who are deaf, hard of hearing, or deafblind
- Teachers, Paraeducators, and Support Staff provide direct instruction by using English (spoken and written) and/or American Sign Language
- Tools such as amplification technology and communication strategies are used depending on individual student need
- For students who are blind, visually impaired, or deafblind
- Teachers, Paraeducators, and Support Staff provide large print materials, braille, Nemeth, tactile materials, Orientation and Mobility services, and access technology depending on individual student need
- Instruction is provided in the Expanded Core Curriculum
- For infants and toddlers from birth to preschool age
- Outreach Consultants work with Part C Providers and families across the state
- In Great Falls, toddlers can attend the Preschool Program starting at 18-months, as appropriate and based on the outcome of the Admissions process
